BASF | PARAGON GROUP : The Architecture Company - Architects & Interiors

BASF

BASF is a globally active chemical company that offers their customers intelligent system solutions and sophisticated products. Their activities in Africa are divided into four country clusters, with their headquarters for Southern Africa based in Midrand.

The logo ‘We Create Chemistry’ and the existing site provided the concept and departure point for the adaptive re-use of their building. The existing industrial building is to be converted into office space, a customer experience centre and warehousing.

Paragon Interface is seeking to use the current workplace development as a microcosm of an urban landscape. Retaining the tone of an industrial environment, the building will comprise streets, neighbourhoods and infrastructure. This extends into the use of materials which will include shipping containters, not as a gratuitous reference, but because they form an honest and integral part of the BASF supply chain.

It is envisaged that clients would visit to view their chemical processes, how they develop and what part they play in our everyday life.

Ultimately the project seeks to reflect the processes of BASF with a visual and lifestyle experience of the space.
